November Makana Pono

November Makana Pono awardee Dane Marcouiller directed his $5,000 donation to Susan G. Komen Hawaii, an organization helping families in our community affected by breast cancer. Our financial contribution will go towards funding breakthrough research to prevent the disease. It will also help provide real-time care to those facing cancer treatment.

Dane has been a supporter of the organization for almost a year. “Breast cancer has had an impact on so many families,” explained Dane. “The Susan G. Komen organization, through science, education and community outreach, will continue to help families affected by breast cancer.” 

Dane is a business manager at our West Oahu location and has worked for Islands Hospice for four years. He wants his colleagues to know that he appreciates the nomination and the opportunity to give back through Makana Pono saying, “It is an honor to be recognized as the Makana Pono recipient. Thank you, Islands Hospice ohana!”
