Makana Pono: Employee Giving Program
Nadine B.
Quality Assurance Process Improvement (QAPI) Assistant
Organization: Catholic Charities Hawaii
Since 1947, CCH has served the people of Hawaii, regardless of their faith or culture, with a wide range of social services.
Nadine has worked at Islands Hospice for the past year and a half as a QAPI assistant, reviewing clinical audits and performing other clerical duties to ensure that our office functions smoothly. Always providing accurate reporting with a positive attitude and a kind regard for her coworkers, Nadine is our February Makana Pono awardee.
For her charitable gift, Nadine selected a longstanding Hawaii nonprofit, Catholic Charities Hawaii (CCH). Since 1947, CCH has served the people of Hawaii, regardless of their faith or culture, with a wide range of social services. This gift comes at a special time for the organization, as it just celebrated its 75th anniversary.
As one of Hawaii’s largest human services nonprofit organizations, CCH serves 40,000 individuals each year. During the pandemic, the team quickly mobilized to help with rent relief, senior isolation, food security and mental health needs. Today, CCH continues to tackle affordable housing, mental health and other issues that plague Hawaii’s vulnerable populations. In addition to serving kupuna, CCH provides monthly training to the caregivers of those with dementia.
Serving children, families and the elderly across four islands, CCH’s team is dedicated, caring and compassionate and hard at work to break the cycle of poverty. Nadine chose CCH because of its broad reach and impact on the community and wishes to thank her fellow coworkers for this opportunity to give back through Makana Pono.
